 Wildlife Trafficking Observatory DASHBOARD

The Wildlife Trafficking Observatory has launched a new interactive dashboard. It visualizes seizure data obtained from digital news reporting actions to combat wildlife trafficking and illegal fishing.

The dashboard presents seizure data categorized by animal groups (birds, amphibians, mammals, fish, reptiles, and invertebrates) and types of seized items (such as live animals, wild meat, eggs, fishing, etc.). A geographic map displays the locations of reported seizures and indicates the relative frequency of these incidents across different regions within Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Data are presented as relative frequencies to facilitate comparisons between animal groups and seizure categories, acknowledging that counts of seized items are not consistently reported in the source data.

O mapa exibe onde ocorreram as apreensões e indica a frequência relativa destes incidentes em diferentes regiões do Brasil, Argentina e Paraguai.

Users can explore the visualized data by interacting with the animal groups (I), the categories of seized items (II), and the different regions on the map (III). The interactive graphics are interconnected, allowing for a dynamic exploration of the data. Additionally, users can filter the data by year and country.
